RAMADOON RULING 4 OBSERVING IFTOOR WITH THE ADHAAN ON RADIO - TopicsExpress

RAMADOON RULING 4 OBSERVING IFTOOR WITH THE ADHAAN ON RADIO NETWORK COULD BE MISLEADING. All perfect praise and adorations be to Allaah; We beseech His peace and blessings upon the Noble Prophet Muhammad(sollallaahu alayhi wasallam). Many of muslims have been like the one who had not fasted any day simply because they are being misled by the adhaan being pronounced on radio network services. It is NOT prohibited anywhere in the shareea to make adhaan like on radio network services to keep the people abreast with solaat. However this must be done in accordance to the legislations of the shareea which is by playing the adhaan when the time of the different solawaat appears. Moreover, those who foot the bill of pronouncing the adhaan on radio network services are not to be blamed as they are simply given time line on when the adhaan would be played to the public since these radio networks already have programs upon their different time-lines; they would therefore not adjust the times they play the adhaan to keep the people abreast with the times of solaat just as the times of solaat also changes. So this is where the fitnah lies which needs to be greatly attended to and effected with changes. This means there must be a kind of agreement between the radio broadcasters and the one who desires to pay for a time-line on their service for pronouncing of adhaan that the adhaan must be played to the public when the times of solaawaat appears and followed up with changes in its times(i.e the daily solaawaat) with the weather. Meanwhile, Many of muslims who follow the adhaan on radio for observing their Iftoor(breaking their fast) are seen doing so before sunset as the adhaan was played on radio before sunset. For example, here in Abeokuuta; the sun did set around 7:03p.m yesterday but some muslims were seen to have observed iftoor at around 6:55 simply because they claimed the radio network had pronounced the adhaan!!! Then who is to be blamed? No one but themselves! As the basis of the deen is to observe the Iftoor when the sun sets and not when a radio network pronounces the adhaan. It is very rare to find a radio network station to roll out the adhaan to the public at sun set. As what they do is to play out the adhaan at the time line slated for it(i.e time payed for at the former time of setting of the sun); that is, the time those who payed for this period chose for sunset. Meanwhile, the sun is not fixed to set at a particular time. The sun setting varies based on Allaahs Will. I remembered before the month of ramadoon began; the sunset was around past seven like 7:15p.m, 7:12p.m, 7:11p.m e.t.c. Unfortunately, it is very rare to find any radio network broadcaster to observe these changes in sun set and then play the adhaan at these periods(of sunset variation). Therefore, we should understand as muslims that the basis of our deen is to use the setting of the sun to observe Iftoor and noting else. Moreso, if the adhaan played on radio conforms with the setting of the sun; then thats okay. However, the basis is to observe the sunset. Therefore, since everyone could observe sunset; then lets return to the basis and observe our iftoor when the sun sets. May Allaah rectify our affairs and accept our struggles.
