#RANT Growing up in the north this was part of drivers ed. We had to know this and understand it because for 9 months out of the year the roads were icy and slippery. And you pretty much guaranteed one minor fender bender every winter just from sliding on snow or something. But I think the people who frequent Hwy 46 need a refresher. If you are driving at 60 mph. And something darts out in front of you. It takes you 2/3 of a second just to THINK about stopping. Then your foot moves to your brake pedal and you slam it down, SLOWING the car to a complete stop. All told...( I can link you to the math ) it takes you 240 feet for your car to come to a stop. Travelling at 60 mph. So please...the next time you think you are in enough of a hurry to ride 3 feet off of my bumper on Hwy 46 if I were to HAVE to stop. There is absolutely, positively no chance you are NOT going to crash into me. So to sum up. - We all have places to be. -Your schedule is not important enough to die for. Or kill me and my children in the process -It is not THAT IMPORTANT. -Get off my bloody bumper - 240 feet to stop your car. Two hundred and Forty! Not the 4 feet of room you are giving yourself. #EndRant
