RCSD seeks support for Special Olympics Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott would like to invite all citizens to be a part of an incredible day of fun and fellowship supporting Special Olympic Athletes South Carolina. On Saturday, May 3, 2014, the 5th Annual Midlands Bocce Bash will take place at Thirsty Fellows, 621 Gadsden Street (USC Field at the corners of Greene and Gadsden Street). Registration cost is $350 for a 4 person team beginning at 9:00AM with the tournament starting at 10:00AM. Each participating team will receive free breakfast, lunch, beverages, and the guarantee of playing a minimum of three games in a round-robin format. Sheriff Leon Lott would like to encourage citizens to support Special Olympics South Carolina, and to become a part of this family-friendly day full of fun and competition. BOCCE is a sport that can be played by everyone, regardless of age. One-hundred-percent of the funds collected from this event will go directly to over 22,000 plus Special Olympic Athletes in the form of training, equipment, uniforms. You can build your team with your family, friends, and your company or recruit a few pros who can really give you an edge! Teams are encouraged, but certainly not required to wear cool matching shirts! Once you register, you’ll receive a set of rules by email.
