RE: COMMENT I concur to the axiom that says that the struggle of a man begins at birth. When I was growing up I found people calling me various kinds of names, like Abiona, Omo Empire, Bode etc. The meaning I couldn’t phantom. Some even refer to me as a cat with nine (9) life’s, because I have escaped death by whiskers limitlessly. My parturition was not only phenomenal, but legendary. According to my mother’s graphical account; my place of birth is 6km away from our country home inside a farmland owned by her father-in-law. She was among the women commissioned for cotton harvesting on that fateful day and she mesmerized everybody when she delivered a baby boy along the furrows of heaps. Unknown to her the expected day of delivery (EDD) was on that day, coupled with the long trek from home that exacerbated the body chemistry and enhance the delivery process. The development brought sadness, despondency, doubt, frustration and total lock-down on the faces of everybody who are mainly women with no medication and assistance. But God stood by her and released the power of anointing reminiscence to what David, Samson, Daniel, Elijah etc received against their traducers. Holy Spirit restored the vigor, strength and stamina back home. The baby too received his power of immunity to survive the 6km journey unprotected in the hands of women with little or no anti-natal experience. Since then I have passed through the thin and thick as the journeys till date have been very tortuous. But in all situations I give praises and adoration to the omnipotence and omniscience God for standing by me. My life has been full of challenges and battles for survival. For example, I grew up under the tutelage of my grandparents from my mother’s side. They were devout Anglican (CMS then). I learnt a lot from the duo. My grand pa thought me the efficacy of prayers while my grand ma thought me character, discipline and dedication to duty. Their vicious circle of poverty then thought me how to live within my means. In most cases I lived on an average of one (1) penny per day. My dear friends of God, Jesus in his great generosity is healing my sickness, enriching my poverty, washing away my defilement and enlightening my blindness. Giving the above scenario, I charge you all to make a living by what you get and make a life by what you give others. After all mother Theresa of Calcutta opined that; “we cannot all do great things but we can do small things with great love and enthusiasm”. Therefore as I dedicate my birthday to the down trodden who have suffered socio-economic deprivation in our society in the hands of privilege view who and living in affluence. I want you to make someone happy today no matter how little by sharing your love and affection with him or her. TO GOD BE THE GLORY AND HAPPY INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATION.
