REACHING NEW HEIGHTS at DuBois Center High School Week, which - TopicsExpress

REACHING NEW HEIGHTS at DuBois Center High School Week, which took place from June 22 - 27 this year, has become a favorite at DuBois Center for both campers and staff alike. Campers enjoy all that DuBois has to offer, geared towards grades 9 - 12. This year, as a new WOW initiative, tree climbing brought the camp to new heights. This challenging, but rewarding activity was made possible by generous donations during DuBois on Broadway. Participants used harnesses, ropes and their own strength to ascend 60 feet into a 100 foot oak tree. Each of the three tree climbing sessions took all of two hours for campers to be oriented, fitted with safety equipment, ascend and finally descend. Not only did this activity promote personal achievement, but also team building, as more confident campers supported and encouraged more hesitant participants. I think it is safe to say that tree climbing will be something DuBois campers will be talking about for years to come. HERES A THOUGHT: Consider incorporating the Adventure Tree into a retreat or day event for your church at DuBois Center. Contact DuBois Center for more information.
