READ & SHARE: Last night, the Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act won final Congressional approval in the Senate on a 76-16 vote. It now heads to President Obama for his signature. The vote culminated an eight-year campaign by Autism Speaks and its partners to gain Congressional approval for tax-free savings accounts for individuals and families affected by disabilities. Stuart Spielman, senior policy advisor at Autism Speaks, helped lead the advocacy charge to get bipartisan support in Congress for this important legislation. To shed light on how ABLE will assist the autism community once signed into law, Stuart has provided answers to commonly asked questions about the legislation.
