READER QUESTION: A friend of mine has had a baby boy, very healthy weight but had a c section at the last hurdle. She has then struggled to produce enough milk and the hospital has advised her to do both breast and formula. My concern is that her milk will totally dry up if the regular stimulation of the baby latching on looses out to a bottle. Ive advised fennel and sitting in silence with the baby, looking into his eyes etc, but its her first baby and like so many mothers out there she has faith that the medical industry knows what its talking about (shes not so aware of the profit margin or risks of formula) Any advice to help her to produce the amount of milk her baby needs would be greatly appreciated...Im still feeding my 3rd child who is 20 months old and have never had a problem so its new ground for me.
