READING CULTURE WAS MY FARE As I travel through life I walk through the pathways of books I embraced all kinds of biographies I became a voracious reader of stuff Reading culture became my fare! By reading I got unknown friends Unknown friends as textual authors Authors of books on Physics Authors of books on Statistics Authors of books on Mathematics Authors of books on Engineering Sciences Authors of books on Electrical Technology… Never really had people to look up to Never really met people to direct me Never really met people to advise me Never really met people to pay my way My reading culture was the fare I paid. Reading about Albert Einstein Reading about Dr. William Shockley Reading about The Wright Brothers Reading about Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe Reading about President Abe Lincoln The list cannot be contained here It was a fare that transported me to here. I drew inspiration from these men I guided myself through their works I advised myself within my own limits Little wonder I don’t hang around much. I had planned my journey through life There was no money to pay the fare My reading culture exposed me to success Now that I celebrate age of 62 I am happy, my journey is going on well. © Engr.
