REALITY OF CHRIT’S RETURN The Lord Jesus said “Behold I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according to his work shall be.” The second coming of Christ is a fact confirmed in the scriptures by the prophets, by the Lord Himself, by angels and by the apostles. Although no man knows the time nor the hour, the testimonies and prophecies of the Old Testament and New Testament compel us to believe that Christ will come again. The scriptures indicates that; (i) the time is unknown.(ii)it is imminent (iii) it will be sudden and many people will be caught unprepared. It is however necessary for believers to note that based on Biblical records; the rapture which is the catching away of the saints is the first phase of the second coming of Christ and can happen any time from now as the signs Jesus spoke about that shall herald His coming are seeing all over today. What are the signs? (a)deception (b)false Christ and false prophets (c)wars and rumours of wars (d) famines (e) pestilences (f) earthquakes (g)increased lying wonders (i) backsliding and apostasy etc. We can see therefore that the coming of Jesus to take His people home is real and can happen any time from now. The sincere and wise believer should therefore be ready and well dressed for His Return.
