REASONS TO FLOOD YOUR BODY WITH THE RIGHT NUTRITION SARCOPENIA-WHAT IS THAT? Sarcopenia is an age-related condition in which muscles decrease in size and quality over time . This can be caused by such factors as replacement of muscle fibers with fat, changes in muscle metabolism, oxidative stress, and other factors. Sarcopenia is not inevitable, and can be reversed in less than severe cases. A combination of exercise, proper absorption of nutrients and the addition of quality protein can help prevent the effects of sarcopenia. Resistance Training has proven to be the most effective exercise to maintain muscle mass. Even if the exercise program is not started until middle age the appearance of sarcopenia can be significantly reduced . Sarcopenia can even be reversed in the elderly by redeveloping muscle mass. This will work most effectively if they include a Resistance Training regimen, while making sure they are absorbing nutrients and taking in enough quality protein.
