REIGNING IN LIFE ...Strategic Alliances Never walk alone! is a slogan of one of the EPL teams. It must have been borne out of the understanding that we are relational creatures. But there are at least five different kinds of relationships: Parents (those who pull you up and give you leverage in life); Partners (those who work side-by-side with you in achieving your goals); Proteges (those you pull up and pour yourself into); Passives (those whose existence are negligible - they neither add nor take from you); and the Pests (they criticize you and never see anything good in you, or those who almost always want to take advantage of you.) I perceive that if next year will be any different, Id have to classify all the people in my life right now; and know whom to align with and whom to avoid. Afterall, relationship is by choice and not by force. Looking at our passage for this week, one of the student-prophets said to Elisha: Please come with us. Who is coming with you into 2015? Go and achieve more today. I believe in you! (Meditation for the week: 2 Kings 6:1-7) I believe someday Africa will be the safest and most productive place to live and work.
