RELIGION (God’s mind or human ideology) Religion according to the Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary is defined as the belief in the existence of a god or gods, and the activities that are connected with the worship of them. This crystallizes the facts that, religion are born out of a belief system. And there activities are a belief of what those who believe and seemly assume to be what is in conjunction with the religion and not minding how it may look like or cause others along the line. The effect of religion and its practice since memorial time have been deleterious but have become more catastrophic in the 21st century. This may be as the result of increase in interest of the desire to have some kind of a spiritual backing as the case might be. Religion which is man in search for a spiritual existence, world, person or force has become more of a concern than a solution as the motive behind the search may be. Man has always felt insecure, weak and helpless in this physical world this may be as the result of man’s nature and her vulnerable to the invisible world and thus the quest for some sort of spiritual power and guidance has become paramount. Even our culture over the time has proven to this effect that man daily desire and aspiration in his journey and whatever adventure he engage needs some form of assurance not just for the success but also for the protection of his life because man has always belief in the existence of spiritual forces that they believe to be hunters of lives and properties. This desire has produce a way of life called religion that has kill more people in the world than any disease have ever done. Religion I dare to say is a killer in the cloth of man in search for god in the act of worship in other to attract either the mercies, blessings or favor in the process of the activities called worship, prayers or rituals. Visually most problems in history and in our contemporary world can be traced to religion. Ironically religion, that was supposed to provide some kind of solution to human-kind problems has instead created problem throughout history. According to Dr. Myles Munroe-“Religion is the adherence to a set of beliefs that regulate the moral, social, and ritualistic behavior of the individual.” The adherent to a set of beliefs that regulate and control one’s moral and social way of life which is called religion is the force behind the chaos because primitively and even in our modern society every human manifest and practice religious ritual that either defines their culture or is a source of a communal life style which is born out a belief system (Religion). Religion is an inherent hunger that humans have seek to satisfy this hunger through diverse practices of superstitious beliefs, flurry of rituals, sophisticated customs, fictitious practice that defy human logic and anomaly to their reasoning. In the midst of these, their followers are expected to show absolute fidelity to this agnosticism or die to the tyranny of it autocrat. It was George Washington that said, “Tyranny is always better organized than liberty” Tyranny as they say, feed on fear because; every tyrant doesn’t mind being hated as long as he is feared. Religious oracles assimilate and associate with this policy and thus keep it followers under perpetual oath of undefiled subjection being bound by sacrilegious satire. What a felony. Religion is nothing but a belief system. And the law of belief states that whatever you believe with emotion and conviction becomes your reality. Your physical reality is your feedback mechanism enabling you at every single moment of existence to constantly monitor and measure what belief systems you have bought into. This point to the fact that our beliefs play a major role in the way we see the world, people and in the way we think and behave. Religion is our belief objectify. And this is the force behind the universal hatred that has existed for decades and still play on to this day. The question is why we have refused to change this belief system called religion even when it has kill and still killing people world over. A wise man said, “Truths” are but beliefs that have been held for a period of time, and those beliefs are but thoughts that have been held over a period of time.” Deepak Chopra said, “Nothing holds more power over the body than belief.” Religion originated from thoughts which were unchallenged for a period of time thus became establish as truth. Let’s all burry our pride, change our thought then it will affect our belief then we may have created a better world for ourselves because our beliefs is what creates the actual fact. One of the most outstanding American’ President Abraham Lincoln said, “When I do good I feel good, when I do bad I feel bad; that is my religion.” You can be killing, destroying and call it worship or godly act. Will the creator destroy the created? No manufacturer will ever destroy his product or command anyone else to do so. The greatest of all time genocide, bombings and all forms of killings in history was in the name of some sort of god or religious injunction back up with scriptural quotation from the so called holy book. Will you call that the mind of God? I don’t think so. The greatest American Architect Frank Lloyd Wright said, “The thing always happens that you really believe in; and the belief in the thing makes it happen.” Religion I dare to say is satanic and it activities and practice is demonic. This is my humble submission. Think what’s right and your belief will be right and that will create the right behavior and the right behavior will make the world a right place to be.
