REMINDER: While several activists from our area are heading to New York on Sunday, many of us cannot join them. But we can express our concern and add our voices to this rising global movement by gathering on the village Green between 11:30 and 1:00. We will walk around the Green, carrying signs, banners and balloons. There may be brief comments from organizers. This is an opportunity to show support for the People’s Climate March. Please come by -- it will be a great time to chat, learn and share. Whether youre part of Sustainable Woodstock or not, were all part of the need for a sustainable environment. Neil deGrasse Tyson said it well (to paraphrase) -- the issue is that all the underlying assumptions about our current human civilization are predicated on a very narrow band of CO2 molecules per cubic meter. Too low or too high, and its a whole new ballgame. Were precariously close to too high, and likely irreversible damage at this point. Well lose species for sure, but the heaviest loser will be our civilization.
