REPOST from KERYGMA: RECONCILE! “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9 Reconciliation. This beautiful word is being treated by modern society as unimportant. Yet, I believe each person must work on it, otherwise it will become an extinct virtue. People would rather go on living without reconciling. With whom? With God. With one’s self. With family. With friends. With enemies. Then they wonder why life is miserable. Many think it’s too difficult to forgive and ask forgiveness to be worth the trouble. But my friend, Mahatma Gandhi (he didn’t know me but his wisdom equips me for life), said, “You cannot succeed in one department in life while cheating on another; life is an indivisible whole.” What many fail to understand is that God gives us the grace to forgive that we may help restore our broken relationships. Reconciliation means moving on. When you return, redefine and reconcile, you are restoring your life! Return to God. Redefine your true identity in Christ. Reconcile with others and be set free. Restoration is our mission. When we reconcile, we build up God’s Church. One brick at a time. Obet Cabrillas (kpreacherobet@gmail) Reflection: Holding on to anger, resentment and hurt only gives you tense muscles, a headache and a sore jaw from clenching your teeth. Forgiveness gives you back the laughter and the lightness in your life. (Joan Lunden) Lord, I depend on You for the grace and power I need to forgive and reconcile with my brethren. St. Thomas More, martyr, pray for us.
