RESIDENCY 2013-2014 Call for residency in Haihatus is on! Application form is on Haihatus website en.haihatus.fi HAIHATUS AIR Haihatus is a vivid non-profit artist-run art center in Central Finland. From the beginning of the year 2012 Haihatus offers an opportunity for artists practising any art form to work temporarily in its Utopia house. The aim is to offer resources for artists of different art forms to work; to encourage interaction between artists and different forms of art, and provoke art activity between the Haihatus community and its neighbourhood. ROOMS The residency rooms (6 of them, varying 17 to 23 m²) are located upstairs of the house. Rooms are furnished and each of them includes a tiny kitchen with dishware. Toilets and showers are located in the joint rooms. In the same building there are 10 to 60 m² spaces to work or practise. In addition there is space for performing, exhibitions, dwelling, a sauna etc. There is wireless internet acces, bicycles, kicksleds and skis to use. WORK PRESENTATION There is a possibility to organize happenings to perform and presentate own art during the residency or participate a joint exhibition during the year. RENT Accomodation room, studio or practise space and the right to use common spaces (a bigger kitchen, living room, tv-room, sauna etc.) costs 550 €/month. Two persons coming together and sharing the same room 550€ + 275€/month. Travel, food and other living costs pays the artists themselves. JOUTSA Joutsa is a small municipality in Central Finland. It´s attraction is based on clean environment, variable countryside landscape, lakes and a good location. Joutsa is known as a pleasant, spacious countryside place. There are supermarkets, many small, specialized shops, restaurants and cafes in Joutsa. The rambler will be spoiled for choice by the many paths and hiking trails. The abundance of fresh water offers limitless opportunities for aquatic activities of all kinds.
