RESULTS DRIVEN ACTIONS OF AN FDS (Freeze Dont Shoot) Member in connection with recent Woodville, Ohio PUPPYCIDE. Mayor of Woodville, Ohio was extremely receptive to a telephone conversation with Nick Barone of FDS who did an EXCELLENT job!!!! toledoblade/…/Residents-react-with-shock-ove… Nick Barone I just got off the phone with Mayor Rich Harman of Woodville. He was very friendly and cordial and has been willing to discuss this with anyone who reached out to contact him. He seemed genuinely heartsick about this incident especially considering that, up until recently, he has had Labs most of his life. He believes that the officer overreacted in the situation. He said he attempted to get the DA and others outside of law enforcement to investigate the case and none would touch it. Instead, four different police departments did it. They all (not surprisingly) cleared the officer of any wrong doing. I asked him if he realized that cops investigating and clearing their own looks very suspicious to the rest of us. He said he was very aware what it looks like and what his town looks like to the rest of the country. The incident has gotten half the town (his estimation) up in arms, and rightly so. Because the officer was cleared he has no recourse for disciplining him. But he is immediately implementing dog training for his officers and having dash cams installed in all police vehicles. He also invited me to friend him on Facebook to see what hes all about and to keep tabs on the progress. I will be taking him up on the offer. Astraea Kelly I think the city will also be assisting in the vet bills. He really does seem to be a very concerned civic leader and person 39 mins · Edited · Like · 2 Nick Barone He said the town would be assisting in some way, yes 35 mins · Like · 1
