RESULTS: TAFC 6-2 NORTHERN TIGERS (SENIORS) P Ose P Ose P Ose B Dry B Dry P Beavis TAFC 9-2 NORTHERN TIGERS (RESERVES) C Filer C Filer C Filer T Charters T Charters T Charters T Charters R Burnett T Denyer IT WASNT A DAY FOR THE FOOTBALL PURIST but the Trojan Boys got back on track to record 2 wins and claim a vital 3 points each as the title race begins to hot up. A depleted Northern Tigers haggled and harassed but to our boys credit we were well disciplined and we walked away with two comfortable wins. Pedro Ose helped himself to a hat-trick on his return to the first team starting 11 while usual suspect Brad Dry grabbed a brace. Paul Beavis added to his tally with a neat finish. In the reserves Tim Charters and Chris Filer worked in tandem well to score 4 goals and 3 goals respectively. The pick of the bunch was a no nonsense 30 yard cannon from Tim Charters which swung away from a hapless NT keeper. Ross Burnett bombed forward from the right to strike home from a 45 degree angle and right back Troy Denyer popped up with a deserved finish after the keeper fumbled. The players now have a deserved week off next Sunday but there will be a frenetic run of games after that as we head to the climax of the season. THERE WILL BE AN ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT THURSDAY TRAINING SHORTLY however there will be a group of players who are having an unofficial kick around at JJ Holland Reserve on Tuesday night from 7pm where all are welcome to attend.
