REUNITED! KARMA JANE!! - So listen to THIS crazy reunion story. I know that you all have seen all of the signs, ads and posts about Karma Jane the Great Dane who was lost around the end of March in Goodlettsville. She was posted on this page as well. Her family Oscar N Afton Carney has waged quite the search and have not given up. So this morning, a lady posts on the Old Hickory Pets page saying that she had lost her two dogs, one of which was a Great Dane, but she did not post photos. Meanwhile.. Laura Cain Warren happened to think about Karma Jane and went over to the lost pet owners Facebook page to do some super sleuthing. EUREKA! This ladys lost dog looked JUST LIKE KARMA JANE. Um, hello. Same markings down to the tiniest detail. In the meantime, thanks to Jeanie Turner and Lynne Ezell-Beery the two lost dogs were found and secured and given back to the lost pet owner. They had no clue that Karma Jane was being thought about as one of them at this point. The pet owner was questioned about her dogs uncanny resemblance to Karma Jane on the lost pet post and she vehemently denied it all, saying that she got the dog from a friend and the similar markings were just coincidental. She put up a good front. But no....in the end, it was admitted that they found Karma Jane in Goodlettsville after trying to use a lie about getting her at the animal shelter. Keep in mind that Karma Jane was posted on this ladys page around the exact same time that she became lost. If she was lost and then found, she did not look for her owner at all. Next up, Karma Janes owner went out to the house where Karma Jane was armed with a microchip reader and closed the case! And now, thanks to the hard work of neighbors in getting the dogs safe and found - and the really keen eye of one great young lady - AND a very thorough job on the part of her owners at getting the word out and keeping it out, Karma Jane is home nearly two months later! Do not give up on lost pets. And if you find a pet? It is NOT yours to keep or give away. You HAVE TO look for the owner first in every way. This family had signs up all over town. These people knew that she had a loving family looking for her and did not return her, even though she was microchipped. That said, the microchip was what proved that she was theirs. Lets do the right thing when we find pets. Lets get our pets microchipped AND do not give up on lost pets. Keep their faces out there. Doing so is what helped get Karma Jane home. Because her family kept posting and reposting, Laura Cain Warren immediately thought of Karma Jane the instant that the lady posted about losing a Great Dane. It was a lead that could have gone nowhere but it was worth a shot - and that shot paid off. Welcome home Karma Jane! :)
