RFID tags - truth or fiction.. A friend of mine just shared on their page very bogus information about RFID tags and Im positive that it wasnt intentional. RFID tags, or smart tags, are meant for limited specific purposes. RFID chips, or tags, have been around since the 70s. Thats right. Since the 70s. Toll roads, you know, where a truck or a car where a person has paid an annual fee and they just drive right through normally on the right side of the booths? Yep, you guessed it.. RFID. Been around a while. This post that was shared however suggested that clothing can be tracked. Welp, thats absolutely correct.. By the retailer so they can process stock easier, not to track lil Johnny and what they do. There is no eye in the sky that can track nor gather personal information. Passports have had this chip for YEARS to prove its a VALID passport. Thats it. End of story. You have to be within a very short distance, and like walmart, can walk through a section without touching every item and know what needs to be restocked. Smart tags are also used for entertainment, security and fun. Say you come home and your smart tags are programmed with your phone. As you walk in, lights turn on, music starts to play, tv turns on the nightly news.. Etc. Damn people. Are we really getting that paranoid that big brother really cares about every lil Johnny and Suzy? Ugh! travel.state.gov/content/passports/english/passports/FAQs.html
