RHEMA FROM MY DAILY READING JESUS’ TOUCH OF LOVE SETS US ON FIRE – 12/7/13 Mt 8:2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 3 And Jesus put forth his hand, and TOUCHED him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. It is interesting to note that the word touch in the Greek is “haptomai” which means to attach oneself to or touch. It is from a root word “hapto” which means to set on fire or kindle. It implies that when we receive the embrace and the touch of love of Jesus, it sets us on fire to burn for Him. To burn for Jesus we need to receive the touch of His love. This is the key to be aflame for God and not when we become condemnation conscious. For many folks, when you become afraid of God then you serve Him well. The answer is an emphatic no. When this leper received the touch of Jesus’ love, he was on fire; the leprosy couldn’t stand it – it has to disappear. Spend time meditating on the love of Jesus for you and you will be compelled to serve Him like never before; you will become passionate for Him. You will be ready to reach the world for Jesus and make Him known. Receive His touch of love today!
