MURRAY Inducted February 5, 2000 Van Alstyne High School: All District Basketball, Qualified for Regional Track Meet, All State Football 1952; Texas Christian University: Football Scholarship, Graduated 1956; Pioneered Sports in H.E.B. School District for Thirty-Seven Years; Hurst Junior High: Teacher and Coach Two Years, Assistant Principal Four Years; Bell High School: Teacher and Coach 1958-61, Assistant Football Coach for First Winning Season Ever, 7-3 Record, Coached the First H.E.B. Player Ever to receive an Athletic Scholarship, Head Track Coach, First Track Team in H.E.B. History to Attend the State Meet; Assisted in Planning and Constructing Hurst-Euless Stadium, the Original Pennington Field; Central Junior High: First Principal, 1965-68; Trinity High School: First Principal, 1968-93, Hired First Female Boys and Girls Track Coach, Offered More Athletic Programs than Any Other High School in the State of Texas. His tenure is best described in his own words: "I want students to have the best teachers, the best coaches, the best facilities, and the best opportunity to take their talents as far as they can go."
