ROB HERE. MALCOLM WRIGHT. Weve never met, I dont know you, have never been rude to you and am confused as to why you chose to send me this private message...... Heres a great idea. Lets all tell the Northern Echo that its parking policy has made us homeless. Because we are transparent and wouldnt lie. You can put that on a public page Malcolm, obviously as you dont even know me you may not have seen this discussed on many occasions. Once more, when I was interviewed by Joanna Morris for the Echo I was very reluctant and needed quite a lot of persuading to do so. ( I have many emails/ messages that back this up) I was very open and honest about a lot of things, quite a few of which didnt make print which is probably just as well given how things are shaping up. I mentioned losing my house when the recession took hold to demonstrate just how bad trade in the town centre had become. I clearly stated that Id lost it due to many different factors and that DBCs alienation of thousands of people through fining was not a large part it but was seriously affecting economic growth in the town centre , forcing many traders to close. ( I have the full interview on CCTV ) When the Echo came out I was horrified that man loses house over double yellow lines was on the front page. Again, my messages to Joanna Morris when she enquired what I thought of the story prove this. To reiterate Joanna didnt fabricate anything but I had given her a full papers worth of material which she had to edit to fit in to her column. She was as shocked as I was at the headline. Whilst I wasnt overjoyed at the headline it raised much needed attention to 20,000 people being fined £35 each in less than a year. ( again, numerous messages to back all this up) Nothing against Joanna, like I say she didnt misquote me, but this is exactly why Ive refused every interview since. ( as well as the photo😃) So Malcolm, Im not sure what you were/ are getting at? On whos behalf youre doing it? Is it a veiled threat to silence me? If its the latter you should apply for a political grant. If youve got something you need to say thats relevant, say it and lets move on. Make sure its true and make sure that whoever gave you whatever information you think Im hiding didnt break the Data Protection Act to give you it. We dont know each other at all so clearly you are doing this for somebody else. I wonder how many more times Ill have to go through this!!!!!
