ROUND 6 MATCH REPORT Its all smiles for the good guys as they redeem their first round defeat by crushing the Under Dogs in a dominant performance all over the court, with the game finishing 36-21. Several records were smashed this week. This win is the highest score of the Little Apples franchise history, and also the biggest winning margin to go with the longest winning streak of five matches. After conceding a 3 to start the match, the Little Apples star shooters went berserk, with Robbo doing his best impression of Steph Curry nailing 3 from 3 outside the arc, ably backed up by Birdy who was 3/3 inside the paint to start the game. Robbo was so hot there was a genuine fear that he might burst into flames at any moment. This allowed the Little Apples to storm into a healthy lead early. Dan Bird was able to provide some spark off the bench but had to wait on the pine for a while, his jersey was MIA and had to be delivered. It was worth the wait as he made an instant impact, going to the line after copping some fouls and also wreaking havoc with his swift counterattack plays. At the half time break things were looking good for the lads in red and black and it continued on into the second half until a moment of poor judgement from Bennell threatened to derail the sides good work. He innocuously lobbed the ball into an opponents cranium after he was spazzing and calling Bennell nasty names, but it was enough to force the ref to sin bin the utility. This didnt hurt the side though as Somerville kept adding to his rebound tally. Rumours around the GRSC are circulating that he finished with nearly 30 boards for the match. He didnt let the Under Dogs have anything off the glass all night long. Robbo added another major to his tally in controversial circumstances, despite the ref seemingly disallowing the basket it was added to the scorecard. The boys atoned for their demoralising round one loss in silky smooth style, showing the competition that their singular defeat was a minor blemish on the results sheet for the season. Redemption has been achieved. Next up on the fixture for the Little Apples is a 7pm tipoff against a playoffs hopeful Tune Squad who will be looking to bounce back after a loss against The Kroegers. Dont miss Your Little Apples attempt to make it #6inarow. #CorePower
