RP from a TWP Fan I actually dont live in the Worthing area but yesterday (Sunday) I was walking my dogs along goring sea front along with my aunt and uncle and their two dogs. As we were walking back towards the sea lane cafe along the green, a dog broke free from a near by caravan and raced at us and immediately attacked my aunts small shitzu. This was a nasty attack and very traumatic for all involved. There were a lot of people around at the time and as well as my self and my mum, many people rushed to our aid and grabbed the dog to try to get it off, putting their own well being at risk. In the end the only way we were able to get the dog to unlock her jaws was for my mum to push her thumb into its eye (I would like to stress that no damage was caused). The owner was also there trying to help and seemed nice enough and was very apologetic. I would just like to extend our thanks and gratitude to all those that helped us. We were all very shaken but the people around us were all amazing, helping to calm us down and to try to get the dog off, so thank you. The shitzu has spent the night at the vets and is due to be having an operation today to fix its broken leg, but it could have been so much worse! As a side note, a police report has been made about the incident but in our rush to get our dog to the vet we did not take the owners details, so if anyone else did get them it would be useful to have them.
