RPS Camp Out with Kids Congratulations to the students, family members and the staff who took part last night in our inaugural Camp Out with Kids. This program was offered to all of our Year 4 students who could bring along one parent or grandparent to camp out on the school grounds for a night. In addition there were plenty of opportunities to play games. The intention of the program is to create an opportunity for the children and the parent to have quality time with one another as well as unpack some of the skills through research that parents can focus upon to improve the quality of their relationship with their child/ren. I had a great night and through listening to the feedback this morning, students, parents and staff indicated they gained a lot from the experience. I would really like to thank each and every one of the parents and grandparents who came along with their child. We all appreciate how difficult it is to fit in an event such as this during the week. You really made the night and the children absolutely loved bringing you onto the school site to camp out. Thank you for your time. To my 9 wonderful staff members who supported the program on the night...thank you. These opportunities for students can not exist without your support. Thank you for donating your time away from your family and/or loved ones. Finally to Mrs Carr who I approached 3 months ago with the concept. She grabbed it with both hands and did a wonderful job in terms of her organisation and coordination. Thank you. We are all really excited after our first attempt at Campout with Kids and are really looking forward to offering the program once again next year for Year 4 in 2015.
