RTI- Station Officers shuffled at whims in Lucknow, violating SC order As per a GO dated 26 December 2010 passed by UP Government in compliance of Supreme Court order in Petition filed by ex DGP, UP Prakash Singh, the minimum tenure of SOs has been fixed at 2 years and reasons in writing need to be specified for any transfer before this period. But the ground reality is completely different. As per the 80 page information obtained from SSP Lucknow for 42 police stations of district Lucknow by me, in years 2011 and 2012 , a total of 72 transfer orders were passed for 215 station officers in which 154 police stations got affected. All three SSPs, D K Thakur, Ashutosh Pandey and R K Chaturvedi openly violated the GO. Thakur remained SSP al through 2011 where he passed 37 orders for 77 station officers affecting 62 police stations. Asutosh Pandey passed 23 orders between March to July 2012 where he transferred 89 station officers affecting 56 police stations while Chaturvedi passed 12 orders between August to December transferring 49 officers and affecting 36 police stations.
