Executive Director Job Description (Condensed) Relationships First is a new nonprofit organization. We’re on a mission to raise national consciousness about the essential connection between healthy relationships and a healthy society –and to provide education and resources to support transformative relationship building. RF was founded by some of today’s most successful and respected therapists, relationship experts and authors. Job Title: Executive Director Reports To: Board of Directors Position Location: Flexible (we are a virtual organization) Full/Part Time: Full Time Salary: Commensurate with experience Relationships First is seeking an Executive Director with the passion, expertise and drive to help us launch a global movement and who will: provide leadership for positioning the organization as a leader in the relationship wellness field; implement policies set forth by the Board of Directors; build institutional capacity and ensure financial stability; supervise staff and consultants; and manage the delivery of high quality programming, events and online content through the Relationships First platform. The ideal candidate is a strong leader committed to developing healthy couples, families and communities. In addition, the Executive Director must be a seasoned manager, reflective thinker, and possesses excellent interpersonal skills. This person should have: · A passion for the mission of Relationships First and deeply value the knowledge and insight of the founders. · A creative entrepreneurial spirit who likes the challenge of growing a new organization. · A strong track record in fundraising for organizations promoting social transformation and relationship well being, growth and healing · A familiarity with and/or experience in implementing effective public awareness campaign strategies: utilizing online organizing and social media to build a grass roots movement of supporters (Ambassadors); ability to create strategic partnerships with like-minded existing national and regional organizations, and a broad range of influential leaders (corporate, governmental service agencies, religious, entertainment, media, etc. ); overseeing the development of an online clearing house for the best information/research on relationships; and expertise in large-scale conferences, project management and program design, virtual meetings, delivery and evaluation, preferably related to personal wellness and relationships. Managerial skills/expertise to include: ability to foster a healthy organizational culture, to encourage teamwork and collaboration, to manage conflicts with diplomacy and grace, and to inspire others with a proactive but respectful work style and experience working in a diverse, fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Strength, flexibility and an ability to dance” with dynamic partners; capacity to develop and manage budgets, and to prepare financial reports; demonstrated ability to write and speak clearly, quickly and persuasively about the organization, its programs and accomplishments; working knowledge of Microsoft Office, accounting and donor database programs, websites, online project-management tools and social-media applications, such as Twitter and Facebook; exceptional organizational and time management skills; and experience supervising additional staff/consultants as necessary. · Qualifications include: o a master’s degree or equivalent plus three to five years of experience as executive director or in similar level of responsibility; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Background in psychology and/or social work and knowledge of the therapeutic world is preferred but not required; o ability to travel as needed; and o the capacity to commit to a minimum of three to five years.
