Radicals and Dissenters It was Baptist Churchs history I - TopicsExpress

Radicals and Dissenters It was Baptist Churchs history I listened to yesterday by Rev Theo Corney, in a sermon titled Radical Dissent He rolled out Baptists challenge against the State on behalf of the people as well as against the Church of Englands move to institutionalized their form of fellowship on others. He recalled how the Baptist fathers were called radicals and dissenters because of their strong stance against anything that will put people in slave and for which many of them were persecuted. Their faith goes beyond titrations with the spiritual but was evidently verifiable with its physical stance and stand against anti-people and anti-freedom policies both by the State and Church; the freedom brought by God cannot only be ministered in the spirit of man without considerable streams of its grace rubbing on the soul and body. The Holy Spirit ideology of freedom is what Im happy to align with; for it, I am ready to be called a radical and a dissenter. It is excitingly clear that no one, genuinely operating in the Holy Ghost will hold another to captivity; either by heretic preaching of abundant mercy with the permission to continue in sin, or of grace in unrepentance; we know all these are directed at fleecing the gullible, ignorant and the wayward to serve a god that could be appeased with silver, gold and praise-worship. I am a radical in the Holy Ghost, not in collection of tithes and offerings to fund lavish lifestyles. I am a dissenter by Gods grace, praying for the people and leading and joining them against institutions; politics and religion, that are purposed by men to take them captive. I do not preach the cheap version of touch not my anointed for in the days of calamity, but the anointed and anointee shall be overtaken and overthrown. You dont have to like my face or posts and of course, you know the exit buttons. Father, raise us radicals and dissenters from your body and according to your purpose. Let there be peace upon your people O Lord, and multiplication of pains upon their captors.
