Radikal Xpressions presents “Rhythm & Word” WORD IS . . . Come and experience a spectacular fusion of Acoustic Soulful guitar, alongside spoken word poetry and song brought to you by 4 performers that will grace the stage at the Vryground Festival on 29 November 2014 (at 7pm). The CAPE/DURBAN FOUR INCLUDES 1. Khulani Maseko (Ingonyama) Born Konuelo Khulani Ngobese Maseko. Started doing poetry in 2004, he got the name Ingonyama through winning a competition called King Of Word (Ingonyama Yamagama)in his hometown of uLundi back in 2005. His top achievements in the industry include being Poetry Africa Slam finalist in 2008, in 2009, he was Durban All Circles Poetry Slam champion and inn 2013, he was Open Book Poetry slam finalist. Nonjanbulo Tshabalala (Shunshine) Nonjabulo Tshabalala is a KZN born poet and writer, based in Cape Town. She has worked with several artists between KZN and Cape Town, and has seen many audiences and stages. Ziqu Mthethwa (Pro-Found) Zee is a self-taught acoustic guitarist who says he observes from a distance. He loves doing Bob Marley, Lauryn Hill, Corrine Bailey Rae, Soul and Jazz. He enjoys playing along with poets because it is that kind of creativity that inspires him. I picked up a musical instrument for the first time in 1992. Lindokuhle Mngoma (Element) Lindokuhle’s highest achievement was being a Finalist at the Poetry Africa Slam 2010. As a student, he was part of the Pour a tree society at Durban University of Technology. I performed a lot at church, Durban Christian Centre Poetic Evangelists and Evangelical Lutheran Church Youth League at Kwa dukuza. “My poetry deals with the truth. You can expect a wave of emotion, philosophy, comedy and reality driven, hard hitting, soft soothing, mind stretching, heart melting poetically spoken word, accompanied by Jazzy/Hip hop orientated guitar and song ... It makes for an amazing ochestra of Rythmn and Toungue of provocative social commentary, conscious vibes, lovely spirits & a quest for freedom.
