Rags To Riches Wednesday: Ian Somerhalder’s soft spot for animals is not a well-kept secret in Hollywood. Not only is the Vampire Diaries actor a proud owner of a rescue cat and dog, he also runs a special foundation (ISF) through which he raises funds and awareness for the environment and the creatures that inhabit it. Clearly, when it comes to making our hearts swell with sheer joy and adoration, Ian knows no limits. And he proved so recently when he announced that he rescued a pup from traffic near the set of The Vampire Diaries. Not only that, but he also adopted the little cutie! Ian named his new furry friend Nietzsche and took to twitter on Monday, August 19 to gush about how smart, beautiful, and charming his new family member is. “[Shes] all a man could ask for in a girl,” he tweeted, adding how the two of them are “so happy together.”
