Raikkonen bemoans bad luck Kimi Raikkonen believes he would have scored far more points for Ferrari so far this season had he not been involved in several minor collisions... After six races of the 2014 season, the Finn is 44 points behind team-mate Fernando Alonso, who currently lies in third place in the Drivers Championship standings, 44 points ahead of Raikkonen. The 2007 World Champion seemed destined to finish ahead of Alonso for the first time this season at last months Monaco Grand Prix, but his race was ruined when the Marussia of Max Chilton clipped him whilst trying to unlap himself during the second safety car period of the race. After being involved in minor collisions during the Malaysian and Bahrain Grand Prix as well, Raikkonen believes his record for the Maranello team is better that it seems. I have driven well many times, but theres always been something going wrong in the races - like punctures from other people hitting me - and its just never come together really, Raikkonen told Autosport ahead of this weekends Canadian Grand Prix. Its a shame. Again we had a good position [in Monaco] but got a puncture so its just bad luck. Small things go wrong and make a massive difference in the end. Raikkonen added that he is still getting to grips with the handling of his F14 T, but needs just a little bit of luck to record much better results. Once we get a good feeling with things Im sure its going to be a lot better, Raikkonen continued. But until we get the results and things fixed we have to keep fighting and hopefully be a bit more lucky in the future.
