Rain brings relief to dry northerners Its been a fairly dry start to summer for the upper North Island and rain falling today mostly north of Taupo and Gisborne will be well received by the farming community. The rain will be particularly positive news for dairy farmers. Winds may be gusty today behind the rain. More rain is coming this upcoming week too, as another low with sub-tropical connections moves in. A third Tasman Sea low will arrive in the weekend before Christmas, but after that may well signal a change to higher air pressure and drier weather. Well have more details this week about Christmas.
