Rainas Nan rung this morning to tells us the Write up about Cactus - TopicsExpress

Rainas Nan rung this morning to tells us the Write up about Cactus was in todays Press. Nan said she couldnt see Raina in the photo of them all pulling the fire-engine! After reading the article Im pleased she is out of view! The entire article is based on one boy and his behavior and how after Cactus he has more respect for other people! When Raina first brought the form home to sign up to Cactus I said as long as she isnt going to be tarnished with a Bad Kid label. Raina is captain of senior A netball team, senior A basketball team, House Captain, North Canterbury netball Rep, senior A touch team, Primary and Secondary Discus Canterbury champ, U19 softball and Premier Womens softball. The article disappoints me on so many levels with unreported talents of some of the other Cactus students! I guess Im saying it is unbalanced and reflects on KHS as it being a school with behavior issues! COMBINED ADOLESCENT CHALLENGE TRAINING UNIT SUPPORT = CACTUS! Objectives: Young people learn outdoor activities teamwork and discipline while making friends and having fun. To encourage physical and mental development and well-being. To help them develop abilities to break through personal limitations and grow self-discipline. To reinforce positive social skills and attitudes! The Longest Day concluded 9 weeks of training with challenges to test participants progress and their ability to work as a TEAM! THANKS TO THE PRESS NOT! FOR KEEPING THE TALL POPPY SYNDROME ALIVE AND WELL IN CHRISTCHURCH! Huh! Rainas media studies magazine article was based on The Tall Poppy Syndrome of New Zealand! Im POSITIVE shell pass with FLYING COLOURS!
