Rainy day - all good here! Im so energised and focused! I put on some great music and danced in my car all the way to the gym! Why? Because Im in LOVE with life! Im sure it has a ton to do with my age (44) but there is an amazing feeling when you have dreams and dont give up on them. EVER! At 38 I stepped on my first fitness comp stage. I thought I looked Fab! And I did 😃. I had been 40 pounds overweight only a year earlier. I competed 7 times my first year and got hooked! I competed in every federatuon we had! In 2010 I started my Ontario Physique journey, made It to Provincials and did not get top 5 call outs. Ill never forget the moments after that. I was with now IFBB Pro Ifbb Pro Melanie Gardner and we were pissed!! Lol. Fired up Aries girls who thought we were robbed! 😬. It only took us a few moments to turn to eachother and snap back to reality and take our ego out!! We were AWESOME! The placing did not change that!! I tools few years off of the OPA scene and even the figure category. As my self acceptance grew, so did so many other things. My amazing husband qualified last year for the Natural CBBF Nationals and last year I said to him I will be on that National stage with you. I finally felt ready! Over 12 shows - a bazillion hours of posing and 4 years of training! I even wrote in January as one of my DONE list items national level figure athlete. Goal accomplished!!! I have never felt more amazing than going after something for only ME!! My kids knew all I wanted was a 5th! That would give me my goal! Not only did I win my Masters Class ( 35-45) at the top of that age range, I placed second in Open (18+) against ppl I could be their momma!! The long point if this.... Lol. Sorry, Im fired up.... NEVER EVER.... EVER give up on your dreams and goals! I am a Provincial Champion now with the OPA. on my way to stand on stage representing Ontario in my home town of Winnipeg where ALL my family lives and can finally support me live! Not to mention the amazing tight bonds I have formed in the last few months with so e insanely awesome ppl who will all be in Wpg competing and supporting!! Im flying HIGH this Monday knowing that we are all capable of anything! There are no time limits on our dreams!!! Keep going!! Im a champ in my mind and that of my hubby and kids! For that, Im golden 💗💗
