Rajasthani Kalmi Vade or Chana Dal Fritters (my modified version) Ingredients 1 cup chana dal soaked in water overnight 1 tsp rice flour powder ¾ tsp fennel seeds or saunf (grind it coarsely) ¾ tsp roasted coriander seeds (grind it coarsely) ¾ tsp ginger paste ¾ tsp garlic paste 1 green chilly finely chopped ¾ tsp pepper (grind it coarsely) ¼ katori Fresh coriander , coarsely chopped Salt to taste Grind chana dal into a rough coarse texture (you can achieve this by mixing it with just 3-4 tsp or minimum water). Add all the other ingredients and mix finely. Steam the mixture (like dhokla) in a steamer. Cut into fine strips like finger chips when cool. Slow roast them on an iron pan with 2tsp oil for 30 minutes. Serve with chutney / sauce.
