Ramadan is approaching and everybody is getting ready for the holy month. Everyone has their own way of trying to organize for the month, some are thinking about how they will read the Holy Koran, others are trying to figure out how they’ll fast in that hell of a weather temperature, while others are thinking about how they will spend Ramadan’s first day. And so many other rituals. We as AYB are preparing for the Holy month differently, we are thinking about the people living in the slums, and how are they going to live through the month? They might not even find a morsel to eat while the Magrib prayers are on. Thinking about all the unemployed fathers who are worried about their families, how they’ll provide them with their Holy month’s needs. About the grandparents who; on top of financially supporting their children are also supporting their grandchildren how will they handle the month? These are just a few examples of the cases AYB franchises deal with every day. AYB is a non-profit organization working on developing the slums by spreading its franchises around Egypt’s universities, each university is responsible for a slum whether inside or outside of Cairo. 8 franchises have grouped up to fulfill the goal of drawing a smile upon the faces of 8 slums residents this Holy month of Ramadan. The slums are: AYB-AUC .... Aen el Seera AYB-ASU .... Ezbt Abu Qarn AYB-GUC .... El matria AYB-AAST .... Bolak Abu l ela shyakt El Kallaya AYB-HU ....Bolak Abu l ela shyakt El Armanty AYB-FOPCU ....Zenhom AYB-MUST ....Bolak Abu l ela shyakt El Adwya AYB-Al Azhar ....El Dweka Ramadan is all about smiling, being happy and obeying Allah’s rules so try to spread those as much as you can. And remember that this is just a small contribution to your society.
