Ran marathon #14 yesterday here in Jacksonville. Was hoping to - TopicsExpress

Ran marathon #14 yesterday here in Jacksonville. Was hoping to qualify for Boston, but weather conditions were not favorable. 60 degrees F at the start with 100% humidity. I was completely soaked in sweat by 10. Was on track to come in under 3:25 until mile 18 when the heat started to wear me down. Stayed on top of hydration, but there was no avoiding getting cooked. Made the decision to cut my losses at mile 20 and finish it up as a training run. Time was 3:38, but I have no doubt if it had been 10 degrees cooler I would have hit the target. Depending on weather, I plan to run the Tallahassee Marathon on 2/8 for a BQ, and then pace the 4:30 group at the Breast Cancer Marathon the following weekend. Three marathons in 7 weeks, why not?
