Random bit of inspiration hit me last night when a friend sent me a video of my old band playing. As most of you know, Ive been playing a lot of acoustic shows this past year. Thats just the artistic place I find myself in right now and hell...I love the simplicity of it all. Its always been my philosophy that if you can strip down a song and take away the bells and whistles...well, the songs might turn out to be alright. HOWEVER, the video gave me a vision of the shows up around the corner. Only difference will be: some college stoner production crew with some expensive cameras and blinking stage lights, a smelly bus driver/medicine-man/guitar tech, AND all our friends will know every word to Choctaw Bingo and will boo me when I cant remember the lyrics myself. So theres my Tuesday rambling. Im having fun being around my beer-drinking, adventure-seeking, poet-loving friends while its just me and the guitar. I hope theyre enjoying it too because when a hot shot band does come back around, and the mix gets too loud, well all still remember the words. Happy Tuesday. Heres the video I was talking about:
