Random memories of Gail (AKA the hot blonde) on her birthday // the first time I saw her short & cute & blonde self... standing with her parents in the foyer of Lowrey Memorial Church in Blue Mountain, MS // telling her to marry me next to a Victorian fireplace in Tupelo // her smiles on our wedding day... and kneeling with me that night as we prayed that God would make us a people of faith // driving cross country with her into Los Angeles with a small U-Haul truck & no air conditioning // practicing our breathing before the birth of our first child... and our second... and four more // seeing her bare footprints in the snow between the parsonage and the church study in Dumas MS // tying the bows on little girl dresses on Sunday mornings // being apart for six weeks during our move to Nashville TN, and her flying into town just to see me... and a house Id found for us // walking together for 31+ years and making 8 major moves across 5 states... with a sense of shared awe at what God is doing. And so much more... I love doing life with you, Gail Pucik... always awkward & giddy around you, I am your April fool: Happy Birthday! :-)
