Random notes from the race today: Mile 1: fastest mile in a long time at 12:42. Mile 2: My calves were really tight. My daughter sent me a cheer through the race app that said Go Mommy Go! Made me smile, and forget about my calves. Mile 3: saw a guy juggling a small ball and a basketball while running. And Marathon Santa. And a crew boat rowing in the river that made me think of my son. Mile 4: got high fives from guys wearing horse masks. Mile 5: my mom, hubby and daughter were there to cheer me on. Mile 6: saw a bike rental area, and a refreshment stand. Oh the temptation...lol Mile 7: tried to talk a volunteer into jumping in front of the sweep bus to fake a heart attack and let me get a lead on it. Mile 8: ended up with a group of 4 ladies who were walking and tried to stay with them. Mile 8.7: boarded my first ever sweep bus, and still managed to smile and feel proud of myself.
