Rant Time! I just took the Xbox apart and was infuriated at the design of the system because it was nearly impossible to remove certain components without damage unless you bought a certain tool. I got it all fixed up and put back together. I still have the red ring. So now not only did I waste time but it could simply be a hardware failure that you cant detect. By this, I mean that computers built back in 1989 had beeps and flashing lights to let you know what was wrong. Xbox? Yeah just flash 3 red lights. Were cool. Ive had PlayStation and Nintendo systems last for 10 years or more which makes this Xbox design look like absolute shit in comparison. Im actually pretty upset, like Microsoft just let me down. Not let me down, but totally stabbed me and everyone else in the back. I mean, you should have seen how much of that thermal paste was on there. Like they had a Titan (from attack on titan) trying to place the goop onto the little square space. Shit was EVERYWHERE. Thats just asking for trouble. What makes this worse is that I was just getting into the Xbox 360 this late in the game and appreciating some of the abilities of the system. Like, fighting game commands are received by the system and processed faster than the PS3 does. Will this matter most times? No. But its something to nod at. I learned (and knew really) that the internet coding was easier and the games had dedicated servers to boot. I also have always admired the Xbox support of 3rd party games on their systems since the first Xbox came out with a few hidden 3rd party gems. Final thoughts - To boot, I just bought a fightstick pack that includes the Injustice game and the strategy guide. I dont care about the game but I was ready to bust out the new fightstick to kick Spencers ass in Street Fighter and UMVC3, and was hoping to let him use the fightstick to see if he would like it if given the opportunity to get used to one on his native system. Your thoughts?
