Rape and murder of an innocent 16 year old in Bengal is shocking and deeply disturbing. Brutal atrocity to this young girl, who was gang-raped, attacked and burnt to death is very tragic. The ensuing political harassment of victims family, first by the police who tried hush up the family and then by the government-opposition blame-game is outrageous. Another similar case in Karaikal, Puducherry where a 21-year old woman was gang-raped twice on Christmas eve by goons with political connections and many more such cases across India shakes our countrys foundation. These victims families should get speedy justice and all culprits should be punished to full extent of law. More importantly, We need gender equality & justice. All governments should ensure a safe and free environment for women and prevent any such future incidents. Our condolences and solidarity with victims family & survivors in all cases anywhere in India.
