Rasulullah (Peace Be Upon Him) is the best example for all of mankind to follow. Its because of this that billions of Muslims practice his Sunnah and strive their very best to follow in his footsteps. Aside from him, many other people find leaders, sportspeople, artistes, businessmen and so on to follow and emulate. Its in human nature to follow what they feel are paragons of the virtue that they themselves aspire to. The Prophet taught his Sahabat through his speech AND his actions. So, one of the best ways to help other people become good, to teach them to improve themselves is to become ourselves an example of goodness, that will allow others to follow.
