Rating Member Comment Reply 5 Dined 04/27/14 | Dinner | $$ We are repeat if not regular customers of Gilsons. We come back because we are always treated so well and the new menu is terrific. The Mussels are the best around and several in our group had the Fish and Chips and raved about them. I had the NY Strip, cooked to perfection, and my wife had the new Shrimp Salad...both were very good. It seems that every time we come to Gilsons we have a good time and enjoy good food. I guess that says it all. A note of caution...on weekend evenings they are full and we saw several parties turned away at the door...which is too bad. Call for reservations (or you can wait and eat at the bar--reservations are better). Gilsons Of Wilmette | 1126 Central Ave, Wilmette, IL Reply Now 4 Dined 04/26/14 | Dinner | $$ We were on our way to Depot Nuevo but had to park by Gilsons and they had just reopened that night after remodeling and doing work in the kitchen. The restaurant is the same as in the past but the food was better than I remembered. We sat at the bar for dinner, my wife sipped on a very nice Pinot Noir and I drank a tasty dark beer (a Porter) that was served at the perfect temperature. We split the sliders and a salad as appetizers and dined on fish (Mahi) tacos. The Mahi was fresh and grilled just right, not dried out - perfect. With so many new choices in Wilmettes downtown we are glad to see Gilsons is still open and a part of the neighborhood. Gilsons Of Wilmette | 1126 Central Ave, Wilmette, IL
