Rationalization of Fare Structure for Metro Railway, Kolkata, 6th November, 2013 :- Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) have decided the revised Fare structure for implementation with effect from 7.11.2013 (1) Revised Zones (kms) and fares for single journey for both Smart Tokens and Smart Cards will be as per the following table:— Zone Kms Fare (in Rs.) I Upto 5 5 (minimum) II 5-10 10 III 10-15 15 IV 15-20 15 V 20-25 20 VI 25-30 25 (2) Existing Minimum Multi Ride (MMR), Limited Multi Ride (LMR), General Multi Ride (GMR) and Extended Multi Ride (EMR) will be withdrawn. (3) In place of existing smart card system, only one type of smart card system will be introduced with initial cost of Rs. 100/- which will include Rs. 60/- as Security Deposit and Rs. 44/- (Rs. 40/- + 10% bonus on Rs. 40/-) as ride value. This card can be subsequently charged up without any upper limit in multiples of Rs. 100/- with 10% bonus. The validity of this card will be one year (365 days) from the date of purchase/recharging. T/Smart Card I 250 60 Unlimited rides in one Day T/Smart Card II 550 60 Unlimited rides in three Days The modus operandi for implementation of the above new fare structure is as under :— (1) The fares for each journey will be the same for Tokens as wells as for Smart Cards. Matrix based on inter-station distance and revised fare structures on different zones is enclosed as Annexure-II. (2) The bonus is @ 10% only on all General Smart Cards at the time of issuing or recharging. The specimen Table will be as under:— Purchase Value of the Card (Rs.) Ride Value of the Card with 10% Bonus (in Rs.) 100 110 200 220 300 330 (3) Issuing of Smart Cards and subsequent recharging can be done upto Rs.1000/- at a time for a maximum card balance of Rs. 5,000/-. (4) With effect from 7.11.2013, journey will be permitted with the existing Store value Smart Cards, as per the revised fares. (5) The existing multi ride cards viz. MMR, LMR, GMS and EMR shall be withdrawn w.e.f. 7.11.2013 (6) The existing Multi Ride Cards shall be converted into Store Value Cards on demand by passengers. The revised value against the remaining rides shall be adjusted for travelling as Store Value Cards, subject to availability of the requisite balance amount in the Card. (7) Issue of Student Smart Card will be done with the existing bonus of 60% as per Railway Board’s order No. TCII/2941/09/Metro/RC dated 24.07.2009, as per the table given below:— Zone-wise amount to be paid after bonus Sl.
