Rattle of the letterbox yesterday morning and yet another picture - TopicsExpress

Rattle of the letterbox yesterday morning and yet another picture postcard arrives to increase the file on the Main Gate at Haslar. This one an Edwardian hand coloured postcard. A Policeman hides between the two trees on the Right. At the gate two more Policeman of the Metropolitan Police Force stand in the main gateway with a lady (in long dress and complete with broad brimmed hat). In the background standing at the gate of the Arcade is one of the Ambulance cars and staff waiting to leave for the Haslar jetty. In the foreground the Tramway as laid down in 1870 complete with the 18 inch gauge line that carried the steam railway to Fort Blockhouse and also delivered patients directly to Zymotics. Pleased that the Tramway and Haslar features in David Mardens book as shown.
