Rd 12 United Guy St Girls V Norths @ AHC 1 – Friday 28th Jun 2013 – 8.00pm Everyone’s favourite 8 o’clock game and we dedicate this write up to one of our award sponsors Guys St Store and Café, Thanks to Mick & Sharon. It’s great to have them onboard like all of our sponsors to give the girls the recognition and reward for their efforts on and off the ground. Last time we took on North’s we narrowly lost 4-3 and with both teams playing for top of the ladder we were in for some great Hockey tonight. United’s backline was well under attack early as the ball looked like a hot potato. Captain Georgia Hamburger Bartlett looked hungry, one with the lot and ready to go as she kept the bite on North’s attack and combined well with GK Maddi Hot Chips Creamer who was sizzling hot in the goals, crispy and well done she chipped the ball out, as she added plenty of salt, there was definitely no chicken salt used tonight with Hot chips creamer as she squeezed the bottle and sauced the opposition. Steph Smoothie Gray looked a bit lumpy and left the ground early, one to go. She looked a bit grey around the edges and needed more then some magic sprinkles if she was going to continue, this one was going to be a home delivery. At the 13min mark United were now getting into it and Ki-Ham Sangas Yates was looking fresh and slicing her way through the middle to create a short Guy St corner shot. Brittany Battered Fish Rosewarne pushed out a great pass not over cooked as Ki-Ham Sangas toasted one towards the goals to just miss. Meggie-moo Milk shake Ronnfeldt was trying to stir up some action at inner, to combine well with Bec Big M Morris, to moove the ball forward and with a stirrer and a shaker we had great options to complete the ideal meal. At half time it was nil all and the girls were looking for some inspiration from the coaches. Steph Sushi Clancey said if we want to win, we need to go out fresh, present and deliver the goods, keep it enticing! While Marnie Meat Pie wanted to Cook em, Microwave em, Deep-fry em, Steam em, keep the pressure on and wrap the game up, show em that we can deliver! Keep it HOT! North’s came out looking very hungry, but Grace Egg & Bacon Baker had other ideas as she poached the ball to scramble Norths attack. Sara Lamb Soup Lumby was trying hard to warm up, a back attack had her off and on the menu, it was real baad, but she still managed to dish up some great defense work as she slurped the ball forward. The Umpire looked like she wanted an order as well, as she held up 2 yellow cards for the Norths team, one for incorrect interchange, no sugar here and one for the mug in the Norths crowd, I think his Cappuccino was too hot. With 2 Norths dining on the side line it was a good opportunity for United to put in a rushed order, but I think this only made the Norths more determined and they were out to get passed our reliable Hot Chips Creamer. Chips was diving everywhere as a side serving, she was giving the customers what they wanted, do you want hot chips to go with that, you betchya, Go you good thing “Hot Chips” Creamer! With 8 mins to go Norths flooded the United Guy St Store, they’d broken passed United’s defense to steal a goal that not even “Hot chips” Creamer could stop and now led one to nil. Grace Chicko Roll Ronnfeldt combined well with Demi Dim Sim Whitechurch and Paige Potatoe Cakes Cooper, for a great take away and looked like a great feed to make North’s pay as Brittany Battered Fish Rosewarne finished off for a great goal for a family special and scores were now one all with only 4 mins to go. With the Fishes great goal she’d broken her stick and ran from the ground to grab another one, but to her amazement she was yellow carded, for leaving the ground, the Ump wanted grilled fish and gave her 5mins off, she’d gone from out of the fat and into the frying pan! It was definitely a Friday Night Special and the Guy St kitchen had the crowd hooked, line and sinker, it was game on! Who could manage the last order to take away the points, Norths put their order in first, off a Georgia Hamburger Bartlett foot that produced a Guy St Short corner, the timer ticked, the siren sounded Norths shot and United defense rushed, but the Norths ball was struck hard to hit the back board and for them to take home the desert. A great nights feed that had the crowd drooling for more. Well done a Pizza of a game that could of gone either way, if you would like to tantalize your taste buds then head to Guy St Store and Café – opposite the Corowa Hospital. Final Scores – Norths 2 defeated United 1. Award – Guys St Awarded to all the girls for a Wed night training feed afterwards! You Beauty! To bad they close at 5pm Wed …lol.
