Re Citibank bldg on Lex, source Yahoo News: there was a 1-in-16 chance that a 59-story tower in the middle of Manhattan could collapse and reduce city blocks to rubble. The buildings engineer worked with CitiBank (the buildings owner), the New York Police Department, and the Office of Emergency Management to construct an evacuation plan that covered a 10-block radius. Repairs were also ordered. Anyone know about this?? Story says a student phoned the engineer a year after the bldg was opened. Engineer reported he was shocked. This bldg has been open at least 20 years IIRC, and NOW theyre evacuating the neighborhood because it cd start a domino effect????
