Re: Shakin All Over I was taken to task by a caller this morning by referring to this song as a Burton Cummings vocal. After some research, I stand corrected. The band was originally called Chad Allen and the Reflections, but had to change it to Chad Allen and the Expressions when another band called the Reflections had a hit song. Shakin All Over was recorded in 1965. The vocals on the hit version of the song were sung by Chad Allen. The record company, trying to capitalize on the British Invasion simply put guess who? on the record label, hoping to make folks think that it was a British band. (The song was a cover of a 1960 song from British band Johnny Kidd and the Pirates) Shortly after the song became a hit, Burton Cummings joined the band as keyboardist and co-lead vocalist. After Chad Allen developed throat issues and left the band the following year, Burton sang lead on the song in subsequent concerts. Thanks for keeping me on my toes! Derek Rock Botten
