Said countries lend some of that tax to their southern compatriots (knowing full well theres a high chance theyll just piss it all up the wall) 3. Pissing up every wall in Southern Europe takes place on an industrial scale 4. Southern Europe then gets Northern European banks to forget some of the due payments 5. Banks go to the EU to recover that money 6. EU goes to its (northern) constituents to cover the recovered cover. 7. Northern states raid whatever money pot they can get hold of to meet the demand 8. Taxes go up/services go down in said Northern states 9. Banks transfer a sizeable proportion of the cover money to their owners in the form of legally binding dividend payments. 10.
